Job Profile

A medical lab technician performs a variety of tasks to support the diagnosis and treatment of diseases. Key responsibilities include:

  • Sample Collection and Preparation: Collecting blood, tissue, and other body fluid samples from patients.
  • Laboratory Testing: Conducting routine and specialized tests on samples, such as blood counts, urinalysis, and microbiological cultures.
  • Equipment Operation: Operating and maintaining laboratory equipment and instruments.
  • Data Analysis: Analyzing test results and ensuring their accuracy and reliability.
  • Record Keeping: Documenting test results and maintaining patient records.
  • Quality Control: Implementing quality control procedures to ensure accuracy and reliability of test results.
  • Safety Compliance: Adhering to laboratory safety protocols and regulations to maintain a safe working environment.
