Job Profile
A medical lab technician performs a variety of tasks to support the diagnosis and treatment of diseases. Key responsibilities include:
- Sample Collection and Preparation: Collecting blood, tissue, and other body fluid samples from patients.
- Laboratory Testing: Conducting routine and specialized tests on samples, such as blood counts, urinalysis, and microbiological cultures.
- Equipment Operation: Operating and maintaining laboratory equipment and instruments.
- Data Analysis: Analyzing test results and ensuring their accuracy and reliability.
- Record Keeping: Documenting test results and maintaining patient records.
- Quality Control: Implementing quality control procedures to ensure accuracy and reliability of test results.
- Safety Compliance: Adhering to laboratory safety protocols and regulations to maintain a safe working environment.
